In The Air

Looking towards the mainland of BC-Whistler in background

Just a quick post to share these shots Hubby sent me  of his flight this morning from Vancouver Island to Vancouver. Yes, that is what the huge city of Vancouver looks like on a nice crisp (-3 degrees celcius) day.  We have had a lot of cold days lately but with that comes the sunshine and I am ok with that!  He is now on a flight to Montreal and from there flies to Fredericton, New Brunswick.  It basically takes the same amount of time to fly across Canada as it does to Europe!  And nearly costs as much as well.  My Stepson is very happy he is coming though so worth it all in the end.

Vancouver

He is gone for 3 nights for my Stepson's Graduation from the Canadian Armed Forces.  In the mean time the cleaning and decorating has begun.  I have about 50 items I would like to get done before he gets back which includes cleaning the entire house from top to bottom, finishing my Christmas cards, finishing the interior decorating, some shopping, ordering tile and a whole bunch of business work too.  Let's just say it is pretty likely I will be exhausted by his return on Saturday.  I tend to get a lot done when he is gone as there is no regular activities like cooking - a simple can of soup is good enough for me!  Heck, I might even have breakfast for supper tonight if it can be cooked in less than 10 minutes.

  2. Wow! Great aerial shots! I know I usually get a lot of work done when there's nobody around, then I'll crash in front of the tv with a bag of chips for dinner. Good thing I'm not alone that often. lol.

    1. This work like dogs when the family is away must be a female common trait! I always make sure to have lots of cereal on hand for these special occasions although I did make myself a 3 day quiche that was fantastic, if I do say so myself.

    1. Those shots were taken from a puddle jumper, prop plane from hubby's iphone 6. AC only sends in the little ones to Comox but it was an incredibly clear day which is unusual for this time of year.

  4. Kazi is off visiting her beau in New Jersey so I am getting out the Christmas decorations. You're right - it's a gift not to have to make meals - I'm lunching on toast and PB :) What great shots from the plane - Canada is just spectacular is it not??

  7. That's a really clear picture through the airplane window. We are missing the cold snap because we are on a week's vacation in Southern California for lots of sports games. Wayne likes the sports, I like the sun. I decorated for Christmas before I left. That way we can enjoy the Christmas cheer when we get home. - Margy

    1. It has warmed up now and with that the rain has returned. Smart to pre-decorate, only R&R when you get home.
