Duck Tracks

Is there anything cuter in the world than bird tracks in the sand?  These cute little duck footprints were spotted yesterday at the beach. Our walk didn't last very long there as tears kept running down my face from the cold wind blowing. It was sunny and beautiful though.  Today we woke up to - you guessed it - snow again!  I should have known - and no, I haven't bought a second shovel yet.  At least today I don't have to leave the house so we can wait until midday to go share the shovel.

So a couple of weeks ago I won $100 at work and was trying to decide how to spend it - that post asking What Would You Do With $100  was the most commented - ever! The money has now been spent as follows:

1.  New Suitcase - hubby has suitcases specifically designed for packing suits.  Those are expensive and would not work for our two week trip to Europe so we needed an inexpensive option.  We found one on sale at 60% off - cost $45.  One less thing to buy before our trip in April.

2.  February 15th Pub lunch out $47 - worth every penny for a nice afternoon lunch date with hubby

3.  $8 worth of new songs for my iphone - those Europe flights are long and I want to listen to some good music.

Based on the snow it looks like I will be staying home today - the roads are crappy here when it snows as the snow is so wet and slippery and everyone forgets how to drive as it happens so rarely here.

Cheers!

  1. Darlin' do you have a leaf blower? You can use that to keep your driveway clear!

    1. Something inexpensive so if the airline wrecks it you can't call it a loss - also nothing in black as everyone and their brother has a black suitcase.

    1. Birds hopping around in the snow are pretty funny too, a robin showed up this morning and was like - What the heck is up with all this snow? Where are the worms?

  5. I love the bird prints too! I love when I go to St. Augustine Beach and I see bike tracks and stroller tracks in the sand. Its the type of beach that is so awesome and smooth, people go for bike rides on the beach or stroll their babies....I think that is so cool!

  6. Very cute photo:) Makes me want to go to the beach! I think for once the weather is nicer HERE today - gorgeous sunshine, no new snow recently (touching all the wood I can find!!) I think you got a LOT for your $100 - lunch out is a rare splurge for you two!

  8. We've been up at the cabin a lot lately, so Internet access has been limited to visits to town. Looks like your travel plans are moving along nicely. We decided to take a summer trip to Newfoundland. We went five years ago, but it was such a whirlwind tour because of ferry problems. This time we are flying direct. It's more expensive, but I think it will be cheaper in the long run than flying to Montreal, renting a car and driving all the way there and back (yes, that was part of the first vacation trip, but I don't really want to do that again). We are camping most of the time while we are there, so I found large rolling duffel bags on sale for $29.94 (regularly $49.99) each. The last ones we had were so heavy to carry, so we splurged on new easier ones. - Margy
