Campbell River Waterfront |
We both had very long work days on Valentines day so decided we would have a lunch date today instead and drove to the nearby town of Campbell River. The restaurant we had picked out which said they were open for lunch service online, unfortunately was closed as they are only open for lunch Monday through Friday. Fortunately, hubby had been to a nearby pub with a business associate several months ago and as we had driven past it said he would like to take me there. It is an English Style pub with excellent food and atmosphere and we both tried the BBQ bison burger with bacon and cheese. One of the best burgers I have had. Today is not exactly a sight-seeing day however, as we are experiencing the start to a storm that is hitting this evening with wind speeds of 100 km per hour expected.
Even with rainy windy weather I still find the views breathtaking, and every day am happy and grateful that we get to live here on Vancouver Island. Cheers!
Hey, the rain ain't snow...and that's fab!

It wasn't that day but today it is snowing - perhaps they thought Ontario needed a break? Send it BC way?
DeleteAren't you glad it doesn't take much to make you happy!!! That's the best kind of life!! You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place......but then you already know that!
ReplyDeleteWe are thankful every day that we decided to move here - so nice to love where you live.
DeleteDoes your house have a fireplace? I wish mine did. I'd love to curl up in front of a warm cozy fire.
ReplyDeleteIt does - natural gas so on at the flick of a switch even when there is no power. I love having a second heat source that is not dependent on power, especially in storm season here. The power could go off for days and we could BBQ as have the gas line hooked up to that and be warm. No problemo
DeleteIt's sunny and -10c here today but by Thursday it's supposed to RAIN which should be interesting with all the mountains of snow around. Bleh!
ReplyDeleteI hate to see what happens when all of that melts, there will be some leaking basements for sure.
DeleteIt is nice that you had a good lunch with the best person in the world!
ReplyDeleteWe spend so much time together working from home but I still can't think of anyone I would rather hang out with than him.
DeleteI'm glad that you got to have your date. Little things like that seem to make life a little more bearable. Maybe its just all the snow that is making life a bit harder.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to get away from the house and work for a change. I am aching for warm summer barefoot days at the beach again.
DeleteWhen days like that are taken with some hot chocolate, they're not so unpleasant. And I've recently learned that any day is better with a little brandy added to the hot chocolate.
ReplyDeleteOr spiced rum - I am with you on that!
DeleteIt's a beautiful view and I can see why it would bring a quiet joy. I would love to visit Vancouver Island.
ReplyDeleteYou would love it - especially if you love nature - the entire Island is beautiful but North Vancouver Island is a nature lovers paradise
