Sea Kayaking Rocks!

Campbell River Marina taken a few weeks ago on our wildlife tour
Sorry guys, no pictures of the Sea kayaking experience this time as I was unwilling to lose my expensive camera in the Ocean but we had a great time tonight on our kayaking lesson.
It was sunny, warm and beautiful and our Courtenay Estuary is one of the best places ever to learn how to sea kayak.  Lots of wildlife as we saw two seals, a blue heron, lots of Eagles, a pair of Mergansers with ten babies, and got a super great upper body workout.  We were a group of six with a teacher who showed us some basic paddle strokes, how to turn and reverse.  It cost $40 plus tax each for two hours including the kayaks and instruction and was totally worth it.  We actually liked it so much  we will soon be renting kayaks there again to further explore on our own.  No fear once we got on the water.  The hardest part was getting out of the kayak at the end as we were tired and it is a little awkward.  I highly recommend it!  I liked it so much I am thinking that I will use up the $100 in amazon.ca gift certificates I have earned on Swagbucks and spend it on an inexpensive underwater digital camera to take to the beach to take pictures in tidepools and to take kayaking.

We had a great time and this was definitely money and time well spent!

    1. Funny enough I hadn't thought of it as a workout until it was over - so much fun though.

  2. Getting out of any boat is awkward for me but I love little sailboats. Lots of kayaking in our neck of the woods!
