Sunday the sun was shining. I was feeling better than usual and decided that I needed fresh air and was going to attempt a walk with Buddy and Hubby. Both times when I was in the hospital in December and January I visualized being able to someday walk again with my hubby and my dog. It was something to hang on to when I felt at my absolute worst. It came true on Sunday. This is the first time I have left the house since January 8th when I got out of the hospital for my pneumonia.
The route from our house is a short walk, about 1 km return with several benches along the way. I only needed to stop at a bench once. Yes, I shuffled like a little old lady and when I got home I was done for the rest of the day - but it was worth it. The ducks were out in large numbers, the day was beautiful and all three of us were happy to be able to walk together. By the end of the day I had done 4000 steps, a miracle based on the week previous when many days I was lucky to hit 1000.
It's the little things that make us happiest in life - things when taken away turn out to be the most important.
Now that's a victory isn't it! I'm so happy for you!
