Blogging Break

Hubby was 3 hours away from home waiting for the ferry when he got the call.  His Mom passed.  No one actually expected her to pass so soon.  So right now we are organizing our life to leave again on Friday to make the 2 day journey back to Alberta to lay her to rest in a private immediate family only funeral.  We certainly never expected to be traveling in a pandemic but it is what it is.  We will wear our masks to protect others and ourselves and be ultra careful.  We are returning a week from today home but will need some time to get life back in order.  Back in 2 weeks.

  5. I'm s sorry for your loss. The added stress of driving both ways twice makes it even harder. Ihope you both take the time you need for grief and recovery, though it is a process that can take along time.

  6. My sympathies to you both, esp. Hubby (no matter what the circumstances may be, your mother is your mother, period). But I'm hoping that perhaps his visit to her may have conveyed the needed message that it was OK for her to go at her own pace/on her own time. Virtual hugs.

  14. Sorry to hear this, a stressful time for you and your husband. Good call on the part of the nursing home. Your mother in law was given the gift of hearing her children's voices. I've seen it result in a peaceful passing many times.

  16. So very sorry for your loss but so very happy that hubby got to see his Mom one last time. Its almost as if she was waiting for his visit before passing on. So much more stress for you now to deal with leaving and dealing with your Mom and Buddy. Good luck with it all. At least you will be together on this drive. Hugs to you both and very safe travels.

  23. Just read your final post. Oh my dear, I am so sorry...and glad you have had a rich, full life so far. There's more to come -- don't stop fighting. Thank you for sharing your life with us; there have been many times when I felt blue or discouraged, especially about delays or unforeseen struggles -- or deliberate rudeness by trolls -- and a visit to your garden and your place restored me. Thank you for that. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers.

  25. Please don't stop blogging! You seem to have a lot of readers who care about you (I've just recently found your blog & linked it on mine) and it's always so horrible when a blogger you've been following just seems to fall off the face of the earth. :-( Please keep "talking" (via this blog) to those who care. We can all lighten your load a bit, if you'll let us. Most sincerely~ Andrea XOXO
