Under The Weather

I've not posted as I have been quite sick this week.  I thought I was on the mend Saturday so expended a lot of energy cleaning my house top to bottom and going to Costco for groceries....and by that evening I was feeling yucky again.  I am still not over it, usually I rebound back quickly but this time I am on day five.

In the mean time I was trying to get year end done for the Company to take to the accountant (done and delivered) and had to do a bunch of Company work for hubby to deliver training this week.  Yes, self employment sucks when you aren't feeling well but the show must go on as they say.  Oh yeah, hubby's 90 year old Aunt died and we would really like to attend the funeral but it is exactly when hubby has to deliver training in another city, training that cannot be rescheduled.  So he also has to "suck it up" as they say and miss her funeral. She was a very sweet woman who lived a full life and hubby is very upset we can't go.  Usually we have a more flexible schedule and could have gone...

I will be posting again when I feel more like a human and less like a train wreck :)

  4. Oh, my dear! I’m so sorry you’re sick AND tired! Please rest and get well. You and your husband push and push and that’s what you have to do. Hope this isn’t the flu! We have escaped being really sick but there’s been so much of it this year. Take care of yourself. I’m making chicken soup on Thursday and wish I could wiggle my nose and appear at your door with a big pot of it!

  6. Take good care of yourself as your recover. It is really tough to miss a loved one's funeral - I missed my Mom's when I was in the hospital recovering from surgery and it still makes me tear up.
    Hugs.

  7. Yes, self employment sucks when you aren't feeling well but the show must go on as they say.

I know all about that, having been self employed for most of my working life.

My grandfather worked for the same company for 37 years and never took a day off sick. He said "if I'm going to be sick I'll do it on my own time". Too bad we have such a soft society now.

  8. I am so very sorry that you find yourself ill again. Please do take care of yourself and rest all you can...this flu bug seems to rebound even worse if you overdo it. I am also sorry to hear about your husband's aunt and that he will be unable to go to her funeral. Praying for you both.

  14. I am so sorry he has to miss the funeral. Maybe he can do something meaningful for the family. I have been ill for so long with flu, uti, and now walking pneumonia. I hope to get well and stay well, and I wish the same for you.

  15. Hope you feel better soon. It seems to me that this year the flu is worse than ever. And yes being self-employed is great (have done that) but not when you're sick. Take care and go to bed with a grog! Anna

  16. Sorry to hear this. It has been a bad year for sure. I got a cold in late August and the bad cough lasted until early October. I figured that would be it for the year, not. Wayne shared his cold with me in early January and I'm still battling some chest congestion and cough. Fortunately the rest of me is fine. The only good news is we both missed the flu so far. - Margy
