Keeping Head Above Water

Christmas Eve Dog Walk
I am completely swamped with work right now preparing to on-board a very large client the second week of January so just a short post to say that we had a wonderful holiday and Monday morning bright and early we were back at it.  2016 is looking to be a better year for our Company which is a nice way to start the year off.  Life is not always about work, but when you are self-employed it is nice when there is no worry on how you are going to write the paychecks.

Our snow has completely melted and after the first day or two Buddy was less enthusiastic as it hardened to be cement-like but soon the rains returned and it disappeared.

We are going to finally see the new Star Wars movie tonight and are making a night out of it by taking Mom as well.  Our New Years Eve will be spent quietly - hubby is making ribs and we will watch a movie.  I usually take down Christmas stuff New Years Day and do a big clean but that may have to wait until Sunday depending on how much work I get done today and tomorrow.

No matter how you celebrate - Happy New Year!

  1. We really enjoyed Star Wars. It was the first time in a long time that we've been in a theatre that was nearly full (we saw it one week after the opening). We had to see it in Bellingham. The little Patricia Theatre in Powell River couldn't meet the four week run requirement. After one week the whole town would have seen it and they would have been empty for the next three, not worth it for them. I guess there's more than one reason to go to the big city for Christmas. - Margy

    1. How interesting, I didn't realize they made them keep it for four weeks. It keeps selling out here, it sold out on us while we were in line and you couldn't buy tickets online as their system overesold a viewing by accident. I bought tickets and then we went back 3 nights later - but we really enjoyed it and it was worth the bother!

  2. Happy New Year to you as well! We are very low key in celebrating holidays. I will be watching my nephew.

Good luck on getting the project going!

    1. I haven't been to a New Years celebration outside of our home in many many years, much prefer the low key approach. Happy New Year!

    1. It was a great movie. Hubby is a fan of the older George Lucas directed movies and perhaps didn't like it as much as me but I loved it.

    1. Our small town theatre sold out while we were in line lol. They just started selling online tickets but due to a screwup oversold on another night so stopped that feature so I had to drive down to the theatre midday and buy tickets for Saturdays performance ahead of time. It was worth it though - I loved it!

    1. I am hoping so, but I do hope for a bit more fun. Work is what pays the bills but a girl has got to live a little!
