More Thrifty Finds

After months of finding nothing thrifting the last few weeks have been very fruitful.  I needed a new makeup bag as my old one was falling apart. For .50 cents this pretty makeup bag did the trick.  This was obviously a gift with purchase of very expensive cosmetics.  It was brand new as still had plastic over the zipper.  I love the groovy colours.

In winter I carry a large purse but I was wanting something smaller for Spring - this Etienne Agner small bag is perfect and in like-new condition.  I had not heard of the designer but apparently their new bags sell for quite a lot.  All I saw was a well-made clean bag with leather straps perfect for summer.  Cost?  $5 Score!

The weather has been gloriously sunny and warm this week.  Our patio furniture now has the cushions back on them and Buddy the poodle is just loving being able to be outside so much. If you don't hear from me for a few days...I'm outside!

  1. Those are gorgeous! Great deals! Enjoy outside - that's what I did last week when it was 75 and sunny. Perfect top down on the Jeep weather.

  3. Etienne Aigner is a long standing designer brand. Aigner started out doing leather goods for haute couture fashion houses.

    My mother loved his handbags.

    1. When I worked at Macy's (back in the 80's) that was a big designer name.

    2. Odd, I don't think they were ever as big in Canada. I was happy to find it though - if you look for the real leather bits you always find the good bags.

  4. When I was younger everyone carried only Agner bags. They last forever and at 5 bucks you got a steal.

  5. Nice finds - I always look forward to seeing your thrifting treasures. My favourite purse is from a thrift shop - I think I paid $5 for it - it's all leather and will just not wear out!

    1. I have one really nice purse that I wear on nice occasions that hubby bought me for my birthday one year but other than that all my every day purses are thrift store ones. I now need to find a smaller wallet though as my regular wallet is too big for this purse.

  9. Love the make-up bag, and better yet, the price :D I have retail gift cards to spend and have been cruising retail stores. Dear. God. The prices. $30+ for ONE shirt when I can get a bag full for $5 at the Goodwill by the pound store. I forgot what the real world was like :)

    1. I know exactly what you mean. I was hoarding some Christmas gift cards from Target but since they went out of business in Canada had to spend them - retail prices suck!

  11. I used to find lots of great bargains at the two main thrift stores in town. Lately there just hasn't been as much available. People must be stretching the use of their own items longer. Interesting to hear it seems to be the same over on the Island. - Margy

Like my Scala collection straw purse!
