Good News!

I thought I was done posting until after Christmas but we have some good news.  After 48 applications (only 2 jobs posted) my stepdaughter was called yesterday for an interview and got a part-time job!  Woohoo!  She moved in with us on October 10th.  She started looking for a job the end of October.  It was difficult at times to keep her spirit up but we taught her how to not lose hope even when it feels hopeless, as eventually hard work and resolve will get you through.  She starts on Saturday.  A very nice Christmas present indeed.

May all your dreams be answered this Christmas!

    1. Thanks Ruth! I really think she has an idea now how hard it is sometimes to get work - something a kid who grew up in Alberta had absolutely no understanding of as there is so much work there

  8. That's so great. It's hard for young people when they can't find work. That is a huge problem in Powell River. - Margy

    1. My neighbor is now working in Alberta construction and flying back every 3 weeks. Last year he worked in Powell River and commuted to work from here. Hopefully things get better soon for everyone in BC
