Yikes!

A fast post - bit of a whirlwind week:

1.  We started teaching my Stepdaughter how to drive.  Hubby gave 1 lesson and I gave 2 plus 1 private lesson from a driving instructor.  Let me say, she likes speed.  I was clutching the door, I really have to find a way not to be petrified while at the same time teach her how to drive.  We have a lot of long driving hours ahead of us lol.

2.  Just before our business trip/family trip this week our corporate credit card was hacked and a cash advance taken - we were contacted Sunday night.  What a pain in the tush- excuse my language but scammers need to be hung up by their toenails.  Everyone ends of paying for that kind of crime in higher fees - we had to cancel the card and don't get a new one for a few days - too late for this trip so will have to use our personal credit cards for all the expenses that are to be reimbursed by clients.

3.  Looking forward to seeing family plus 2 friends I have not seen in a long time.  One just lost her Dad last week so she needs some friend time and fortunately our trip couldn't have come at a better time.  There might be a lunch and some thrift therapy involved - she is like minded :)

That's it!  I told you it would be short :)  I managed to get our gifts for the 3 boys and Baba sorted before this trip so we will have part of our Christmas this week and the other half next Month with Mom and my Stepdaughter.  Have a great week everyone!

  1. Good luck with the driving lessons! And what a pain about the credit card - these thieves are getting more and more devious. Hope you have a safe trip x

    1. I am sure it was an online purchase that jeopardized our card, we do so much ordering for our business. Fortunately, we are not on the hook for it and they caught it quickly. We still haven't gotten the replacement card in the mail though. Thanks!

  2. I laughed when I saw the picture! I feel that way a lot! I've taught quite a few people to drive and I can say that there is no way to get around being terrified. You are in a "loaded gun" with someone that doesn't have a clue. Stick with empty parking lots and quiet neighborhoods.

    1. She needs more intersection practice so the driving instructor tells us - great, can't wait lol.

  3. There should be "smackers" for the hackers...I volunteer!! Don't let it spoil your trip however! I remember the days spent teaching Kazi to drive - I kept trying to brake from the passenger's seat!!

    1. I believe these hackers should have to do hard labour for every dollar they steal when they get caught - might actually prevent a lot of it! I have that phantom brake thing going on too.

  4. Yep, I'd be doing the same with the driving lessons! After being hit 3 times I'm a twitch drive on my own, let alone teaching someone else. Good luck!

    1. Believe me, I am scared, I just hide it better than her Dad.

  5. Sorry to hear about your cc being hacked - how awful!

Good luck with the driving lessons. I didn't dare to teach my kids to drive as I don't like being driven by anyone lol. I can't imagine the how many fall outs there would have been.

    1. Someone has to - it appears to have fallen to my shoulders as hubby has way more anxiety over it than I do. Fortunately, she listens pretty good.

  6. My father tried to teach me to drive. After the one and only lesson I told my mother if my learning to drive meant I had to take lessons from him, we could just forget the whole thing. I started at a driving school the next week. Wishing you a good trip with some heart-warming times with friends, too.

    1. That sounds like something my stepdaughter said to me about her dad. Let's just say of the two of us, I have far more patience. She just needs more practice. Her aim is good (most important) she just needs to learn to take it easy on the gas and brakes.

  7. I taught school for years, but couldn't teach someone to drive. I would be white knuckles all the way. Credit card problems are so scary. One time way back when they used to send cards through the mail unsolicited, we had one stolen in the mail and had trouble proving we hadn't made the purchases. - Margy

    1. Hubby is finding it impossible - I fear it is in my hands. It is almost easier to deal with teenage surliness than new driver fear factor :)

  8. I'm right there with you. We're currently teaching our oldest son to drive. It's so scary. I get way too stressed out and end up yelling at him, which in turn makes him more nervous. My hubby is so much better at it then me. I feel an ulcer coming on. LOL
