It feels like Spring today as the snow from our storm last weekend has begun to melt. Fortunately, our ground is not frozen so the water is being absorbed as it melts rather than flooding. Nature is at its finest this week with lots of robins suddenly making an appearance in search of the worms under the snow. I spotted a fawn this morning on the way to work that seemed completely at ease wandering across the road. There are tons of deer here in Comox so they are not really afraid of humans. Fortunately, they seem to be a bit wiser than most deer about vehicles and rarely get hit here, or perhaps humans just expect deer on the road and are more careful. A large flock of swans few over my car in the parking lot at work and made several rather large deposits - hubby had to go wash the car when I got home. They almost got one of my co-workers who had to run to the door of the office to avoid being bombed.
So never fear, for those of you with tons of snow and cold temperatures, Spring is really right around the corner. Two sleeps until March!
I really want to believe you but I am in fear of being stuck in single digits forever! If those birds crapped here, it would freeze before it hit anything....

DeleteFor the last two days, the morning temp has been in the 30's here in the south. We had to get the furnace going again. When the weather finally warms up for good, we're going to have a party or something when we blow out the pilot light.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt, all the south has been having a much colder winter than normal. What the heck is up with that?
DeleteI think we'll be celebrating Canada Day in snow boots...I'm afraid this stuff will never melt!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Camping will be in Igloos that weekend lol
DeleteI like your optimism... if only...
ReplyDeleteSometimes even if you don't believe it you have to say it :)
DeleteIt feels like winter is NEVER going away!!! Today with the windchill it is minus 29 C, YIKES!
ReplyDeleteBut I know for a fact that Spring is just around the corner!
Hubby flew back from Edmonton yesterday and it was -24 with -34 including windchill factor. He was very happy to get home!
DeleteAre you sure? Yesterday we had freezing rain followed by 10cm of snow. I'm so used to this weather I won't know what to do if/once spring does arrive!
ReplyDeleteI know, we are getting yet another storm today (although this time Vancouver was harder hit than us) and it is snowing right now, but really it is supposed to turn to rain later today which I am totally alright with. Maybe it was wishful thinking.
DeleteMaybe we should move north! It snowed again today and is a warm 20 degrees. And yes, 20 is warm.
ReplyDeleteI remember those days - so glad we think cold is freezing now :) Sorry!
