A Day In

The fog never lifted yesterday so we ventured down to the beach to find white out conditions and fog horns.  It must be really scary to be caught out in a boat or ship in this kind of weather as you really can't see beyond 20 feet.  There is no wind at all to blow it away, and it is quite warm, very eerie.  There were a few ducks and geese about but that was it.  We will have to come back another day for a nice walk.

Today has been foggy again,  an adult jammie day (get your mind out of the gutter) where I managed to do all the things I was supposed to do, just in my bathrobe.  I paid some personal bills, some company bills, finalized some hotel arrangements for our trip to Portugal, which now includes 3 days on the coast at Estoril, and read some blogs.   I just did not feel like getting up today, really low energy.  Dinner will be bbq chicken, potatoes, peppers and onions all in one dish and tonight will be reading.  Really, other than the jammies, it sounds like a regular Sunday to me :)

  1. We used to live near the sea.I loved to go to sleep with the fog horn mournfully sounding .

    1. Our home is about 1 km from the Ocean now so we don't hear it from the house(plus we have a newer home that seems to keep sound out) but it was so neat being right on the water hearing the horns.

  2. White out conditions sound dangerous for boaters, that is for sure. Your trip to Portugal sounds fun, we would like to travel there. My Sunday begins with joy in church, includes a walk along the ocean and a bit of reading. Ah, bliss.

    1. No day is a bad day when you can walk by the ocean, one of my favorite things.

  3. We had a day in as well, cleaning, purging, recycling... I stayed in pjs for most of it.

I have found memories of Portugal . Even if I was quite young. I remember going to Lisbon, Estoril and Caiscais. It was lovely, very clean and bright.

    1. One of the requirements for our trip was to find somewhere relatively sunny in April - Portugal fit the bill! They get a little rain but not as much as the rest of Europe. The days are ticking down now!

  4. That first photo is so desolate and lonely looking. Although I love fog and how it muffles sounds, I would find days of it overwhelming. Hope it lifts for you soon (so you can finally get dressed).

    1. Good news, it finally lifted and I was forced to get dressed to go to work on Monday :). Three days was a bit much though, we were starting to feel weird about it.

    1. We are thinking early May for our yard sale. I was afraid to share our weather for all my poor Northern blogger friends sake. January sucks weather-wise across the nation.

  6. I LOVE jammie days :) Everything, even work, is much more fun when you're wearing your jammies. It's totally foggy here too...no...wait...that's a blizzard!

    1. Those crappy blizzards, at least we don't freeze our fingers off when we do venture outside.

    1. I felt like cocooning but after three straight days of it I was starting to feel a bit like being in a horror movie! The fog has finally drifted off now and we are left with our normal wet winter days.

  9. We had to get from Powell River to Vancouver last Friday. We've had airplane reservations for months, but the fog didn't want to cooperate. We had to jump in the truck early in the morning to catch the ferry south. It's been a pretty thick Foguary on both sides of the Strait. - Margy

    1. Foguary, love that. We have a back up plan from getting from the Island to Vancouver for our trip in April, flying the night before for a late afternoon flight and spending the night there - if the flight can't go out we will do the same thing and get to the ferry.

    1. Thanks but these were taken with my Iphone, I really should have taken my good camera there as would have gotten some neat shots.
