The One And Only Picture You will Ever See of Me

Some people blog as themselves.  I blog as Cheapchick of Livingrichonthecheap.  Why don't I blog as myself, you ask?  I have personal reasons, which namely stem from a stalker, an ex-longterm relationship of mine prior to hubby(*hubby and I have been together for 10 years now).  I am not going to get into it more than that here as that is not what this post is about.

This post is about hubby taking a picture of me on the sly today, looking for starfish.  You see, I am happiest at the Ocean.  Yes, this is likely the only picture you will ever see of me on this blog.  Cheers!

  1. What a beautiful picture! No surprise that you were enjoying such a lovely place.

    1. It is one of my favorite beaches, mostly deserted as no sand, just rocks. We take our watershoes and foldable chairs and sit right by the water, watching the little crabs go about their business and spotting small sea creatures. I love it!

  3. I also don't like my picture taken or putting it on the blog. I have only two on mine, (if you can find them)both are pretty obscure. One is cradling one of my darling cats when he was very ill (thankfully he recovered) and the other is a distance one in the snow !
My reasons are different from yours though - I'm ugly !!!

    1. Okay - nobody is ugly and I am certain you are not. We are all unique in our own way - it is what gives us character :) I really don't like having my picture taken in general though - just like you.

  4. Funny, I realized just the other day that I had no idea what you looked like and now I know why. That's a really nice picture your hubby took of you doing something you love. I know another lovely lady who blogs under a different name for the same reason (stalker). She said she'd like to reveal more personal things about herself, but said she was afraid to which is totally understandable.

    1. I am not really afraid, as he seems to have a more stable life now but if I am traceable he seems to want to get in touch with me and holds out false hope that I don't want to give him.

    1. I just get a smile on my face when we go to the Ocean, nothing else does that!

  7. I started my first blog "Living Without Money" in part because a guy kept suing me and one thing he'd do is use anything he found from me on line in his legal filings. I thought I might as well write about how I had no money so any judge would see that I didn't have millions to give away. I also don't use my name because it's been a while and I want to stay under the radar. When the person you are looking to avoid doesn't know what you are up to, they can focus on other things.

I also agree on the water thing!

    1. Wow, I never knew that. People don't get sued much in Canada as our laws are quite a bit different. You are right, I just wish he would give it up.

  8. It is so sad that you have to hide because of a (blank). I'm just glad that you are out in one way or another and I'm glad to call you my blogging buddy.

    1. Thanks friend! He is just screwed up mentally, not really a bad person, someone who made some wrong choices. He doesn't seem to get the fact that I have been with hubby 10 years and am happy, still thinks after all these years there is some chance. It is really draining.

  9. I'm sorry you had that happen to you, you should be able to do just what you want. It's not a bad thing, though, to be more private. And at least you ARE blogging, which is good. I can only wish your stalker Karma for his actions. :)

    1. I decided a long time ago I wasn't going to let him rule my life, but am a bit careful with the privacy. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

  10. I love this picture of you...you look so relaxed and isn't it funny that you are happiest with nature on the beach, which (aside from fuel in the car) costs nothing. Speaks volumes about your values in life.

I don't like to post photos either, so you don't see many of me either.

Keep enjoying the best things in life, your hubby sounds right on your wave length too and the more I see of where you live the more I know I must go one day!

  11. Yep, I'm the same, Cheapchick, I try to remain just as "P" as my blogging name and not use my full name. My reason is that I like the freedom that the anonymity gives me to talk about whatever I like.

Only one or two friends and my sister from the "offline world" know about my blog (I think they don't really read it anymore anyway). I like that you did give a little glimpse of yourself, without revealing your identity beyond what you want to :)
