We Have Signed On The Dotted Line

It's official.  We have listed our Alberta Home.  The original intent was to list mid-March but after speaking with our Realtor this week he suggested we list it now in advance of the Spring Listing wave which happens every year.  Hubby was in Alberta on Business so he spent lots of hours this weekend scrubbing it in preparation for showings (how unfortunate I was back here in B.C. so sorry I missed that bit!).  It has been a long time since hubby scrubbed floors as generally that is my arena (shared responsibilities - I take care of the house and he takes care of the cars).  Anyhoo wish us luck.  We hope for a quick sale with a late Spring/Summer possession.  Fingers and toes crossed as our standard of living will increase significantly once we only have to pay for the expenses on our new Island pad.

No Valentines Posts here, I don't decorate, profess my love to hubby daily and we purposefully avoid going for dinner on Valentines day.  We are eating out this weekend on date night at a Greek restaurant that I have been wanting to try.  Cheers!

  1. Good luck! Hopefully it will sell quickly. A few houses in our area seemed to sell really fast!

    1. Ours is really big and the nicest on the block which is not always a good thing. We are hoping for the best!

  2. I hope it sells fast as lightning.

WE don't go to the restaurant on Valentine's because it is very often a ripoff

    1. Yeah, I prefer restaurants when they are less busy and the waiter can focus on us rather than too many tables.

  3. Being slightly off season will help a lot. You will have a lot more visibility. Best of luck to you -- but I suspect you will do well!

    1. I just want it to be over, as this is round 2 of selling the same home. At least this time I don't have to live in it while its on the market.

  5. That's a big a scary step that we soon have to take. We're not quite ready yet , but we're getting close.
As for V-tines day, we have the same philosophy. We've been married almost 33 years. I don't need cards and flowers, but if hubby makes a pot of coffee or fixes dinner now and then, that's means the world to me.

  7. Good luck on the house sale! Where I come from we bury a statue of St. Joseph upside down in the front yard and the house gets sold quickly. We Boston Irish have some crazy superstitions but they must work sometime because we keep doing them.
I share your opinion of Valentine's Day and actually wrote a post about it.
    Take care

    1. Thanks! We may have difficulty doing that - the ground is still frozen in Alberta :)

  9. I'll be interested to see how the housing market is doing here in Canada and hope you have great luck in selling quickly and at your price! We had a romantic dinner of New York Fries LOL - just not having to cook is a treat in itself!

    1. Here it is very seasonal with the weather - the second the snow starts melting in Alberta people go house shopping - which happens in March and April.
